Read what Stevie says below then go order immediately.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the At Both Ends magazine / 2x7" package is now available. I'm really excited with how this has turned out and can't wait for people to get this in their hands. The fastest way to get your hands on a copy is by heading over to AtBothEndsMagazine.com and following the instructions there. Any questions about this should be directed to info@AtBothEndsMagazine.com.

Here's what's in the package:

One 148-page magazine/book that compiles two new issues worth of At Both Ends Magazine and two 7" records with new, exclusive songs from Bane, Grade, Unrestrained (ex-Pulling Teeth/Desperate Measures) and Between Earth And Sky (ex-Trial, Catharsis, By A Thread, Walls Of Jericho). The Bane songs are NOT found on any of the 7"s in the Dublin/Boston/LA/etc. series.

Included in the magazine are articles and interviews with Bane, Sick of it All, Verse, Shook Ones, Bill Stevenson, Sparkmarker, Anchor, Shai Hulud, Greg Bennick, Devotion, Wait In Vain, To Kill and way more. This is about as packed as a zine can get. The magazine is perfect bound with glossy pages and colour covers. Printing is similar to a book and is higher quality than pretty much any commercial magazine you will find in a store. All-in-all this is a really beautiful package.

Check out what Hanging Hex has to say about it:

"Well, someone certainly has set the bar higher. I guess if you're going to go out do it in a way that's going to make everyone else attempting to publish something in print basically give up... Steve has laid down an excellent final issue."

All the other info can be found at AtBothEndsMagazine.com. That's right. And get this, you can get albums based on DONATIONS. That's right. So if you think the new DEA album is worth $5,000, you can purchase it for that much. Each album downloaded comes down in 128kbps (semi yucky) but if you donate MORE, you can get higher rips (yay!).

So head on over and grab that Get Outta Town Records 2009 sampler. Track down these venues and show your support.

Super7 x GB for SDCC ...

Are you a comic nerd that also loves hardcore? I really enjoy this shirt. The font is nice and big, easy to read from across the room, and the message is great. A nice feature is that it DOES NOT SAY Down To Nothing on it. What about that? Great shirt.

War Hungry - Patriotic Warthog 2006 - $7

Just another quality looking tshirt. No mention of "Straight Edge" but that's cool, I guess. I think if the logo had been screened on straighter, it would have jacked the price higher. A great tee. Anyone got one in Large for me?

National Edge Day 2008 - $26

This shirt rules. No doubt. Jay Bil designed this one up. And then Jason Barrow GAVE them away to any kid who walked into Anchors Up that was X'ed up. What about that? He gave away these shirts. Maybe everyone was, but I distinctly remember Rev doing all sorts of embroidered stuff. I specifically recall an Into Another hoodie at my local Bull Moose. It was there for months. It was a XXL maroon hoodie with the giant Into Another star logo embroidered on it in a deep purple. Such a wackie hood. I wish I had picked it up. I wish I had not slept on this crewneck too. Crewneck - Crucial. Revelation Records - Crucial. Embroidered - ... Crucial? Well, at least it's pretty fucking awesome.

Have Heart - Boston Straight Edge Sweatshirt - $22.50

Have Heart - Boston Straight Edge Longsleeve - $10.50

It seems weird to me that these two Have Heart items went for so cheap. Maybe the market is saturated, but I would have expected them to jump in price with the break up rumors coming true. Great design, and a HUGE "Straight Edge." You know I like that.

Right Brigade - Boiling Point Rip - $12.21

Right Brigade is awesome. So is this tee. Someone got a steal for a lousy $12. That's the price of 3 lattes from Starbucks. Someone won big.

Chain Of Strength - One Sided, No X - $52.91

I was pretty curious to see what this tee would do. I spotted it on ebay and took it for an older boot. That's the case. Turns out it is an early to mid 90s Chris Kelly (97A, Straight and Alert Fanzine) boot. Quality repro, no doubt. If it hadn't broken the $40 mark, I would have snagged it. WAY better than that Hundreds x Chain Of Strength collab.

Right Idea - Demo Tee - $13.00

I love this band. Great tee too.

Follow Through - Smorgasbord Tee - $10.00

Another simple, classic tee. Too bad it's pit stained. Maybe that'll oxyclean out. Good luck to the winner on that one. A great tee, regardless. Follow Through Crew!

Uniform Choice - 2 Sided, Older Wishingwell Design - $60.00

Here's an older Uniform Choice shirt. It's not 4 or even 3 sided, but it's still damn cool. I was a little surprised at how low it ended honestly. Like I said, kids are crazy. And since Casali already owns one, you didn't have to fight him for it!

American Nightmare/Bane/Mouthpiece/Reach The Sky @ CBGBs - Print#38/50 - $20.50

Here we see another Jay Bil masterpiece. Funny note from the auction:

The print is numbered 38of50 and signed by "Jay Balls" (no idea what that stands for, sorry if it's obvious).

That made me laugh. Jay Bil kills it with this one. I contemplated picking it up as the one I have is roughed up, but I slept. Look at that lineup! So ridic. CBGBS rip.

Texas Is The Reason - Longsleeve - $14.75

Remember when bright orange XL longsleeves were the rage? Or maybe a dark mustard XXL tee. Wow. This is a cool longsleeve but the color is a little too wild for most. That could explain the price tag it ended with. Good pick up for the winner of that one.

Side By Side - Demo Boot Tee - $3.25

Side By Side rules. This demo tee was always a little silly for my taste, but you can't knock Side By Side. A great repro that went wildly under the radar.

Hardware Fanzine - XXX - $10.65

Straight from the Jersey Shore, Hardware Fanzine came with this great shirt. The fanzine put out two shirts. Both are great. I like the grey one a little more. I'm pretty anti-partial to black shirts at this point. Give me ash grey or white.

Cold World - Bape Rip - $13.20

Cold World always hit hard in the merch arena. They always had some sort of crazy rip off tee. Whether it was North Face, Side By Side or BAPE, they always put out a great shirt. This one is nice in that it is SIMPLE. A one color BAPE rip off. I like it (even though it is a black tee).

X-Rated Swatch - $199 BIN

Bidding started at $99 for this watch and it didn't move for days. Good for them.

Sick Of It All - Blood Sweat Tears Longsleeve - $11.50

What's the deal with this longsleeve? I'm just not sure. Was it reprinted at some point? Everyone of these longsleeves I have seen have been beat to shit. I've owned FOUR in my lifetime, and they were all super faded and semi shredded. Either a) this guy found a gem or b) this is some reprint. I know the seller had some boots/repros up at the same time so I just don't know.

There you have it folks. April & May. Good times. Some of you may know Bobby Hundreds from the hardcore scene. He's been down for many years now. I don't know what to say about these shirts though. It seems like they were be out of place in the Hardcore scene AND the Street wear scene. Maybe it's just me. Hell, I was complaining earlier about how solo Morrissey stuff is boring. And many people proclaimed, "it's just you." Could happen twice in one day. Here's another news item for you all to check out.
Panic Records signs Bostons' Lions Lions.

www.myspace.com/lionslions

Breaking out of the Boston scene, Lions Lions have grown more in their first year of existence than most bands do in their entire careers. Since forming in 2008, Lions Lions have kept themselves busy with playing any and every show that comes their way. In just one year, the band has played well over 100 shows in support of their 2008 debut EP "Direction", every audience giving them incredible response and support.

Although Lions Lions are a new band, the members are veterans of the local music community. Growing up in a scene that has fostered their growth, the members of Lions Lions have spent time in other notable Boston bands such as Vanna, Therefore I Am and A Loss For Words.

Lions Lions are not about being some sort of super band, they are a band that takes what they've already created and expand on it. Each member draws influence from the musically diverse background that Boston is and melds it into a sound that appeals to fans of many genres of music.

Having accomplished so much in such a short amount of time, Lions Lions are ready to take on the next step and have signed with Panic Records to release their debut LP.

Entitled "From What We Believe", Lions Lions will be entering Webster Lake Studios in MA (Four Year Strong, Energy, Therefore I Am) with Chris Curran to lay down 10 new tracks that will be produced by Dan O'Conner and Alan Day (Four Year Strong).

The results should be nothing short of incredible considering the hands on the project and the band backing it up, Lions Lions.
Good stuff.

Ebay Wrap Up: March 2009 Edition

Is it just me, or has Ebay been extremely slow on the shirt sales? But what do I know?

Chain Of Strength - True Till Death Used bootleg - $20

This is a used bootleg, but it still sold for $20 bucks, plus shipping from Italy. This was a one off. The seller happened to have an in at B9 and helped print up a few weirdo shirts. This was one of them. Something about this design just catches me. It really works. Others must have felt the same because they worked it up over $20.

Gorilla Biscuits - Old Rev Design - $71.00

Nuff said on this shirt. Looks great.

Bane - Fall Tour Misprint - $0.00 (no bidders)

Here's one that snuck under the wire. It appears to be a Fall Tour shirt from WAAAY back to 1999. And that's what it is. But it's more. This is actually one of the misprint shirts that somehow got produced. The regular shirt has two screens on the back.

There are probably less than 2 dozen with one screen on the back making this one of the most rare Bane shirts ever produced. Hopefully the seller decides to relist and someone scores a great tee.

American Straight Edge - Judge Hammers - $1.20

And last, I can't decide if this shirt is the coolest thing ever, or the worst thing ever. I just can't decide. Judge Hammers = Cool. US Straight Edge = Cool. But the combo and screen sizes. I just can't decide. What do you think?

So that was March. Hopefully April has more gems and oddities. We'll see. Beyond the demo or zine, we have some new shirt designs and are offering 3 great package deals:

PACKAGE #1: GBNF demo and GBNF shirt

PACKAGE #2: Effort fanzine and a REACT! shirt of your choice

PACKAGE #3: GBNF demo and shirt, Effort fanzine, and a REACT! shirt of your choice

If you aren't familiar with GBNF or Effort Fanzine then flex your head on this:

GBNF: In 2008 long time friends Face (Get the Most), Paul DC (Sinking Ships), and Jamie King (giant dude) decided to start a new bad that focused on writing fast HARDcore in the vein of Floorpunch, No For An Answer, and Brotherhood. Rounding out the line-up with Kyle (Get the Most) and Garret (The Answer, Vanguard) GBNF entered the studio and recorded the 8 song, "Seattle Crew" demo. The demo is available for free on-line but due to the serious awesomeness of it we’ve decided to do a one time only TAPE pressing of it. Both the demo art and the song UNFORGIVEN have been posted on our myspace so check it out.

If you have yet to hear GBNF then check them out http://www.myspace.com/gonebutnotforgottenhc.

EFFORT FANZINE: Taking cues from classics like Boiling Point and Schism, as well as current mainstays like Start Today, long time friends Kalle (Go for Broke, Send in the Clones fanzine) and Ulf (Balance, Go for Broke, Changes fanzine) teamed up to create Effort fanzine. Setting the bar high in regards to both content and aesthetics, Effort delivers thoughtful and insightful documentation of our scene and our ideas. A lot of people missed out on the first issue due to the high cost of postage from Europe so I’m excited to announce that REACT! has partnered up with Effort to release issue #2 here in North America. Issue #2 is 76 pages and includes interviews with Mindset, Anthony Pappalardo, The First Step, and Justice as well as articles, reviews, opinions, and tons of great shots.
http://www.myspace.com/itstimetoreact. It's ramping up in 2009 and headed to a bookshelf near you before you know it.

Remember the Anthrax Club?

Some of you may remember me and some of you will have no clue. My name is Chris Daily, and I used to do a few zines (Skate Confusion and Smorgasbord) back in the 80's, as well as a record label. The first release was a comp 7" recorded with Jeff R in the Anthrax on 01/24/1988.

The Anthrax Club was a place that we all spent a lot of time at. A club that brought live music into our lives at a crucial point in our adolescence. The bands that played there, the photos we all have seen, the flyers and the genius booking schedules…amazing.

For years I have thought about doing a book that would document the history and the excitement we all felt. 2009 brings that desire to a head. In talking with the owners, Shaun and Brian Sheridan, we agreed; a book is great idea. They are on board and pulling things out of storage. You have no idea how excited I am.

Without wasting any more of your time, I'd like to direct you to a web page announcing the project. I have spoken to a few of the old regulars but I want to document every one's experience. Please take a look at the page, I am searching for anything you may have or remember that will make the story of the Anthrax Club more complete.

www.anthraxclubbook.com

I hope to hear from you soon.

-C.Daily
As for me, I don't remember. I was age 6 in 1985. I was down with matchbox cars and Michael Jackson's Thriller album. But if you were there, hit up Daily as he's a good dude with a great idea.

December 2008: An Ebay Wrap Up ...

2008 had highs and lows, as far as ebay and hardcore is concerned. I've never see one though. Hell, I've barely ever seen boots. I bid on this a few times, but once it started peaking over $40, I tossed in the towel. No thanks, dudes. If anyone has a legit Schism logo tee, hook it up!

Bootleg Chain Of Strength True Til Death - $41.00

Another boot. Fun fact. There is a rumor that kids would buy the 10th anniversary tee shirts (From 97, I think), then cut the sleeves off. They would then sew a sleeve from a color matched shirt back on, giving them an '87 styled tee. What about that??

Original Burn Shall Be Judged tee - $63.51

Great tee. Great tee. No doubt about it. It looks a little beat, but well worth the amount spent. I hope the new owner wears it with pride.

Have Heart Crew Neck - $41.00

This band has chill merch. And for some reason, it almost always resells for ridiculous amounts of money. Take this crewneck. It's less than a year old. In fact, they may still sell them on their tour. Wowza.

Right Brigade Boiling Point rip tee - $17.39

I think this one must have slid under the wire. YIKES!

Original (??) Sick Of It All Tour 89 tee - $7.50

The seller claimed this tee was original. I am doubting that. It's easily 19 years old. No way that shirt would have held up that well. No way. Great shirt though.

Bold Speak Out tee - $38.03

Hey look, another Bold Speak Out tee. This one clocks in for 6 more dollars than the last one. Not too shabby.

Bane Zip Logo hood - $8.41

I've got a bit of a Bane buying habit. That's not too bad when a hooded sweatshirt sells for less than $10. If anyone has one that I don't have, look me up. I want yours.

Ten Yard Fight first (or early) tee - $20.50

Plain and simple. It says what needs saying and leaves crappy graphics blowing in the wind. This shirt is probably 11-12 years old. Looks great.

Original Uniform Choice WW shirt - $0.99

This lasted for about 2 days on ebay. MAYBE. Probably less. Someone must have offered a good BIN price because the seller yanked it down. Anyone know how much it went for?

Andrew Thomas SXE CO tee - $0.50

No bids. Funny story: I became straight edge in early 1998. Prior to that, I didn't want to purchase any tees that screamed STRAIGHT EDGE. During March of 1998, I drove to Detroit Fest (held in Wayne, Michigan, oddly enough) with 2 great friends. It was at this event that I decided it would be ok to purchase straight edge gear. Andrew Thomas CO had a merch table set up (probably wedged between a vegan cookie table and a zine table) and I grabbed one of their shirts. Actually, they had a portable clothing rack with shirts on hangers. High class! The first sxe shirt I purchased is the one pictured above. Oddly, that seller could have purchased it from me a few years ago and decided to resell it now. Who knows? Second fun fact: People referred to this shirt as my "Hampton Beach Straight Edge Shirt." LOL!

Floorpunch long sleeve - $85.00

This is a fine way to wrap up December. This one ended on the last day and sort of chafed my ass. The seller purchased this shirt straight from Bill Punch during a phase where Bill sold all his remaining FP tees. Now I know the seller didn't pay Bill Punch even half that much for that tee. I actually tried to get it from Bill when he was selling it originally but he already promised it to this other kid. And crap, this kid sells it on ebay a few months later, likely unworn. Damn it.

So there you have it. That's December 2008. Some steals, some deals, some general wackiness. Until next month ...

News from Panic Records!

Timm is holding it down in the northwest.
