Well, the list does include "The Great Adventures ..." I however LOVE the Ruler's Back. Classic album, no doubt.

Missing? That's a tough one. Instead, I will list a few I wish were missing. Scarface. That dude does nothing for me. And Stillmatic. Illmatic = hot, Stillmatic = good, but not hot.

Your right...hardknock life should be a 5 mic album...but 50's first album is and will be his best..but its not a 5 mic album....he has focused too much on beef instead of hip hop...its one thing to touch on a subject here and there but he is putting to much into his beef with other rappers.

5 mic albums should be judged by the music and originality. Every song should have its own personality and thenakedtruth does that. beats and lyrics are very insightful fo a girl. Top bitch in da game. I'm glad thesource took a chance and gave SOMETHING 5 mics.

De La Soul's Three Feet High and Rising is one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made, why didn't it receive five mics
10/18/2006 4:40 PM

no Hard Knock Life cant be...it was the start of Jay-Z's decline into pop-rap. And 3 Feet High And Rising was far too early in De La Soul's career. They had a brief period where they were hippies, but I'm glad they moved on from this as it was childish. If I could add one I would say...Liquid Swords

How bout Game's "The Doctor's Advocate"? Every song on dat album iz fuckin crazy. How bout Pac's "The Don Killuminati"? Like he said on dat album it was the realest shit he ever wrote. And FUCK LIL KIM. How tha hell did her album git 5 mics?

people keep asking'which albums are 'missing'...NONE! its a list of The Source 5 Mic awards...and as I can see non have been missed out, now if you people are saying which albums should have got 5 Mic in The Source, that's a different argument. anyway, Hip Hop IS Dead

Fuck 50 cent. GZA-Liquid Swords should be there. Nas-Hip Hop is Dead should be there too.

I think that Jeru The Damaja's 'The Sun Rises in the East' should have got 5 mics, and I'll always be annoyed that his sophomore album 'Wrath of the Math' only got 3 mics!

'Ruler's Back' is indeed a classic and deserves 5 mics even if the main flaw is that he sounds like he's on speed through the entire album. I think 'Stillmatic' is classic and deserved the 5 mics, as soon as people stop comparing it to 'Illmatic' the better.

50 Cent's albums arn't classic, all he can do is beef with other MC's. Lil Kim's 'Naked Truth' is good but didn't deserve the 5 mics that it received. 'Liquid Swords', 'Minstrel Show', 'Resurrection' and 'Doe or Die' deserve 5 mics.
